Expatriation

Expatriation implies a particular additional package providing expatriate and family with a global cover, equivalent to the home country’s.

For French expatriate, additional cover is either provided by private insurances, which covers up to the last cent and is adapted to international mobility, or by a specific contract with the Caisse des Français à l’Etranger (CFE), based on a voluntary subscription.

But such tools are not unanimously welcome around the world and some countries are actively engaged in hampering their use, which they consider a danger for political stability, moral code or religion.
